Glass Art and Glass 3D Printing

Brandyn Callahan and Phirak Suon are amazing artists / designers in the US that working with many digital forms of fabrication.


They use 3D Printed ceramics with glass blown pieces blown inside to create breath-taking pieces. See here for a video of their process:


What art pieces are possible using 3D printed glass? A: What would you like to make?

The piece was:

  • Created in 2021

  • Showcased at the National Museum of Australia in 2021 / 2022

The piece has a single print path for each layer that loops around the entire zone. Inspired by coral, the piece below has a complex form but the most simple print path possible, a single continuous contour.

Brandyn and Phirak have received a 3D Printer and are set to make some incredible creations. Stay tuned.



Digital fabrication and production is becoming more versatile, reliable and important for many artists, designers and architects. Those who embrace change are able to push boundaries and be pioneers in their field.
